All around the world, Rich’s associates are actively engaged in neighborhoods where they live and work, cultivating positive impact in communities. In Spokane, Washington, a group of seven associates made good on Rich’s commitment to renewing planet by participating in a shoreline clean-up effort. Together with their families, the group removed more than 100 pounds of trash along the river, eliminating a significant amount of waste that would have polluted the water, harmed to wildlife, and degraded the ecosystem of this precious resource.
The shoreline clean-up on June 28, 2025, was hosted by the Spokane Riverkeeper, a local non-profit committed to protecting and restoring the river for future generations. The organization, affiliated with the global Waterkeeper Alliance, envisions a Spokane River where wild native fish thrive in the basin, pollution is eliminated, and the community is engaged in the river’s protection.
Rich’s Spokane team shares that passion for preserving and protecting the river, a 111-mile tributary of the Columbia River that runs from Idaho to Washington which is widely regarded as vital resource for native communities and a popular destination for water sports such as rafting, kayaking and fishing.
The clean-up site, which was located just minutes from Rich’s Spokane facility that produces and employs, proved to be both convenient and impactful. In just over an hour, the team collected and bagged a significant amount of trash from the water’s edge – a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when people come together for a cause.

“A huge shoutout to each and every Rich’s associate who rolled up your sleeves and volunteered your time and energy at the local River clean-up,” said Ganna Ainsworth, Rich’s Operations Assistant – Spokane. “Your dedication, teamwork, and positive spirit made a real difference—not just for the environment, but for our whole community. Thanks to your efforts, the river is cleaner, the wildlife is safer, and our town is a little brighter.”
In addition to a variety of ongoing efforts to protect the natural resource that runs through the heart of their city, Spokane Riverkeeper organizes regular community-led cleanups, both on the water and along the shoreline. To learn more about Spokane Riverkeeper, click here for a short video.
